Mutt was released carded as part of the third series (1984). He was also sold in 1985, then was discontinued domestically in 1986.

Variations
There are two versions of Mutt's helmet - one version has holes drilled in the sides (below left) and the other version does not have holes (below right).
Body Construction
Mutt's body mold is entirely original and not made up from previous molds.
Mutt's entire mold was re-used in 1989 for the Slaughters Marauders Mutt (v2).
Mutt's thighs (or upper legs) were recolored and re-used to create Dr. Mindbender (1986).
Note that the figure's head only turns left and right - it does not allow the head to look up and down. The heads only turned left and right until the the swivel ball head that was introduced in 1985 (Series Four).
International Variants
In Europe, Mutt was recolored and released in 1991 as a European exclusive Mutt.
In Brazil in 1986, Mutt was released as Cão Bravio, Codename : Mastin.
Versions of Mutt
In 2005, Mutt was renamed "Sgt. Mutt," and was renamed "Mutt" in 2008. So while there are multiple names, they are all based on the character "Mutt."
