Wild Bill was released as part of the second series (1983). He came packaged exclusively with the G.I.Joe Dragonfly Assault Copter XH-1.
The Dragonfly and Wild Bill were also available in 1984 and 1985, and were discontinued domestically in 1986.
Wild Bill came with no accessories.

Hardy served as combat infantryman and participated in LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol) operations during South East Asian debacle. Reenlisted for Flight Warrant Officer School and has since remained in service. Specialized Training: CLASSIFIED. Qualified Expert: M1191A auto pistol (prefers single action .45 long Colt revolvers), XM-16 attack rifle.
Amiable and slow talking. Fancies himself a country-western singer. Totally honest in personal dealings, but not beyond spinning a tall tale for the amusement of comrades.
No variations of Wild Bill (v1) are known to exist.
Wild Bill's arms were also used to create Steeler (v1.5) (1983). The other parts of Wild Bill were original.
Note that the figure's head only turns left and right - it does not allow the head to look up and down. The heads only turned left and right until the the swivel ball head that was introduced in 1985 (Series Four).
In India in 2002, Funskool recolored Wild Bill orange.
