Figure Description:

Grunt (version 2) - also commonly known as Tan Grunt - was available in the second series (1983), packaged exclusively with the G.I.Joe Falcon Attack Glider.

Tan Grunt and the G.I.Joe Falcon Attack Glider were also sold in 1984, and were discontinued in 1985.

No variations of Tan Grunt are known to exist.

Body Construction:

Tan Grunt's entire body was a repaint of the swivel-arm version of the original Grunt.

The head of Grunt was re-used for Grand Slam and Zap, and Grand Slam (v2). Grunt's arms were shared with Hawk, Short-fuze, Snake Eyes, Stalker, Steeler, and Zap. Grunt's torso was shared with Breaker, Hawk, Snake Eyes, and Stalker. Grunt's waist-piece was shared with twelve of the original fifteen figures. Grunt's legs were shared with Breaker, Clutch, Hawk, Rock N Roll, Short-fuze, Stalker, Steeler, Zap, and in 1984 Tan Clutch.

Note that the figure's head only turns left and right - it does not allow the head to look up and down. The heads only turned left and right until the the swivel ball head that was introduced in 1985 (Series Four).

International Variants:

In Argentina, a figure based on Tan Grunt (with a different waist-piece) was released carded as Soldado Halcon: Sokerk. In Brazil, Falcon Piloto - a figure based on Tan Grunt (with straight-arms and a different chest piece) - was released boxed with the Brazilian version of the Falcon Glider - Asa Delta Camuflada.
