Black Dragon Ninja (v2) was released as part of the twenty-first series (2005), boxed with the Ninja Battles set. The Ninja Battles set included Black Dragon Ninja (v2), Shadow Strike, Snake Eyes (v22), Storm Shadow (v17), Tiger Claw, a DVD, a Comic Book, and a Display Base.
He was rereleased on a single card in 2008 in specialty markets.
