Cobra Commander (v18), was released in a three pack as part of the twentieth series (2004). The pack also included Baroness (v6), Cobra Trooper (v2), and a reprint of G.I. Joe #1.

This set was also given away at the 2004 G.I.Joe Collector's Club Convention Dinner with a different cover.

Early Cobra Commander figures came without the yellow stripe on the right leg. Later Cobra Commander figures added this.

Body Construction

Cobra Commander's (version 18) body was created from the same mold as Talking Battle Commander Cobra Commander (v5) (1991). The mold was also used to create Cobra Commander (v9) (2000). The front torso, arms, waist, and legs were also used to create Cobra Commander (v6) (1993). The waist piece was also shared with Rip It (2000). The head is a new sculpt.

Versions of Cobra Commander

"The Doctor" represents Cobra Commander before adopting the title in the movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
