Code Name:

Snake Eyes

version thirteen

Carded Figure (w/Cobra Commander)

Boxed (Operation Avalanche): Front | Back

Filecards: Two Pack | Operation Avalanche

Figure Description:

Snake-Eyes (version 13) was released as part of the eighteenth series (2002) carded in a two-pack with Cobra Commander (v13). After the first 20,000 units of this two-pack were produced, the colors were changed to those of Snake Eyes (v14) (2002).

Snake-Eyes (version 13) was also released in 2004 with the K-Mart Exclusive Operation Avalanche box set. The Operation Avalanche set included the Assault Quad (v2), two Air Assault gliders, Snake Eyes (v13), Dusty (v8), Iron Grenadier (v2), and Storm Shadow (v13).

Versions of Snake-Eyes:

In 2006, a CLASSIFIED figure was released, showing Snake Eyes from his years prior to G.I.Joe.

Accessories:

Two Pack

Snake-Eyes came with a black Sound Attack machine gun, a silver sword and a black backpack sheath w/ silver fittings.

The packaging also included a color background.

Operation Avalanche

The Operation Avalanche set came with five black guns and two black backpacks. No weapons 'belong' to one figure more than any other.

Variations:

Some collectors consider Snake Eyes (v13) to be the early version of the same figure as Snake Eyes (v14), as they were both packed with the same Cobra Commander (v13) and available as part of the 2002 "Wave 3" release of figures.

Body Construction:

Snake Eyes (version 13) has an entirely new body sculpt. The same mold was used to make Snake Eyes (v14) (2002). Every part except the head was used to create Duke (v14) (2004).

Additional points of articulation were added to several new 2002 figures. Snake Eyes (v13) has hinged ankles and swivel wrists. Note the return of the O-ring design absent from earlier new figures from 2002.
